A group of LGBT-rights activist organized a kiss-in in front of the State Duma (Parliament) as a protest against the federal draft law banning the "propaganda of homosexuality among minors". They got attacked by "Orthodox Christian activists" who threw eggs at them. Then the police arrested everybody.
A source in English: a HuffPost article with a photo gallery. There are more photos here and here (with explanations in Russian).
I gathered from various Russian sources that the activists were charged with "petty hooliganism" and the trial against them is scheduled for tomorrow 20 December at 12 midday Moscow time. So we'll soon see just how criminal "unauthorized kissing" is in Russia.
If you understand Russian, watch this space for the newest information.
Sergey ilupin is among the arrested. It felt absolutely surreal to see him getting arrested in a video embedded in an American article.
